Job Summary

In this role you will perform a wide variety of duties connected with general equipment and building maintenance, and repair work such as carpentry, welding, plumbing, pipe fitting, electrical, millwright work, general repairs and maintenance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

+ Diagnose equipment trouble. Work from blueprints, schematic drawings, handbooks, supervisory direction and outside advisors as necessary, to put equipment into proper operating condition.

+ Move and install plant equipment. Level and align as necessary.

+ Perform general plumbing and pipe fitting operations on water, and air lines; trace out issue’s and make necessary repairs; install new or alter existing lines. repair leaks, valves, traps.

+ Should have ability to operate boiler and boiler controls.

+ Perform a normal range of plant carpentry.

+ Empty and maintain dust collector units.

+ Mix solutions for Mold Line daily (includes Monday morning start-up).

+ Maintain overall appearance of outside and inside of the facility including change A/C filters outside and clean condensation pans & drains, clean all inside A/C filters returns and change filters, replace light bulbs inside & outside when needed, replace damaged or dirty ceiling tiles, wall repair, painting, daily outside trash pickup and blower cleanup of parking lots, maintain green areas (pulling weeds, trimming trees, etc.).

+ Monthly fire extinguisher inspection, monthly eye was station inspection, organize and maintain chemical pad areas

+ Seals area air compressor and dryer PM’s; vacuum pump PM’s; all other PM’s as assigned

+ Perform electrical work such as installing, repairing, and replacing controls, rewire equipment and building facilities. Diagnose and locate source of electrical difficulty. Test and balance circuits.

+ Use welding equipment, drill press, and other shop equipment to repair or fabricate equipment parts.

+ Make deliveries and pickups to local vendors using company vehicle.

+ Detect and report operating difficulties or specific problems to proper supervision. Observe good housekeeping practices and prescribed safety precautions.

+ New installations and modifications to existing facilities equipment to be done in compliance with OSHA and local government regulations.

+ To update and maintain OSHA log or government records as directed.

+ Must comply with all Company work policies.

+ Other duties as assigned.

Additional Responsibilities

+ Maintain and promote a safe and clean work environment throughout the maintenance department

+ Instruct, train, guide and assist other maintenance personnel as needed.

+ Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.

+ Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, instruction, and all safety rules.

+ Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.

+ Steel toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses or applicable PPE based on task.

Education

+ High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.

Work Experience

+ At least 3 years of experience in carpentry, welding, plumbing, pipe fitting, millwright work and have a background in low and high electrical (24v DC To 480 V-3 phase).

+ Must have valid driver’s license

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

+ Able to be aware of all relevant SOPs as per Company policy as they are related to the position covered by this Job Description

+ Support and contribute in Lean Sigma programs and activities towards delivery of the set target

+ Able to comply with the company’s safety policy at all times

+ Able to comply with the company’s quality policy at all times.

License and Certifications

Travel Requirements

None: No travel required

Physical Requirements

Medium-Exerting up to 50lb/22kg of force occasionally and/or up to 20lbs/9kg of force frequently, and/or up to 10lbs/4kgs of force constantly to move objects.

Additional Requirements

+ Stand and walk for 8 hours per shift

+ Willing to work overtime as needed

+ Frequent bilateral grip/grasp and manual dexterity work required

+ Frequent bending and twisting, squatting, pushing and pulling and working at elevated heights and in confined spaces as required by the job

+ Must be able to tolerate industrial odors, heat and high temperatures, and smells on a frequent basis
