AGI Hi Roller manufactures a line of premier commercial enclosed, dust-tight and self-reloading conveyors, designed for installation in grain handling facilities, soy and corn processing operations and industrial operations. It specializes exclusively in the design and application of conveyors which will not only contain dust and spilled materials but will also automatically reload that material back on the carrying surface of the belt.
The Opportunity
The Purchasing Manager actively manages the day-to-day purchasing function for the Hi Roller/Tramco division ensuring supply continuity, good supplier relationships, and solid suppliers’ performance on Quality, Cost, and Delivery. This role requires superior negotiation, project management, and coaching skills and a capability to work under ambiguity to deliver business financial targets. This role identifies cost reduction opportunities for direct and indirect spending while building a fact-based business case to ensure project approval, acceptance and inclusion in strategy.
Responsibilities:
+ Collaborates closely with Manufacturing Operations, Engineering, Planning & Scheduling, etc to implement strategic and tactical objectives, define priorities to support AGI financial objectives.
+ Ensures supply continuity. Manages with intensity: Inventory, Cost, Quality, Delivery and Warranty associated with Supplier Relationship.
+ Develops internal and external benchmarks and metrics to support AGI site objectives and ONE AGI Supply Chain objectives.
+ Manages S&OP process and makes decisions to benefit the business.
+ Collaborates in the development and execution of multi-year savings plans.
+ Implements the category strategies and builds positive relationships with internal partners and suppliers.
+ Supports supplier selection and contract negotiation process for key projects.
+ Maintains appropriate Supplier Relationship Management programs for strategic and critical suppliers in the concerned categories of spend.
+ Develops and manages working relationships with both internal AGI functions and suppliers to manage resolution of supplier issues.
+ Drives standardization and efficiency improvements across the plant purchasing team; ensuring policies, processes and procedures are in compliance with ONE AGI initiatives.
+ Coaches and mentors Purchasing team to ensure succession planning and strong talent bench.
+ Other Supply Chain and business activities assigned in accordance with the role.
+ Works with Cost Accountant on price increases and inventory control.
Qualifications:
+ Post-secondary education in the field of business or equivalent.
+ 5-7 years' purchasing and inventory management experience with at least two of those years in a supervisory role.
+ Must have working knowledge of safety stock levels, min/max levels, reorder points what inventory turns mean for the business.
