The Technician II, under general supervision, evaluates, selects, and applies standard engineering or scientific techniques used in research or support laboratories.

Qualifications
Required Education and Education:
+ High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
+ Three years of related experience
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
+ Knowledge of laboratory equipment, scientific apparatus, and computer equipment
+ Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ Ensure attention to detail
Preferred Qualification:
+ Experience with immunohistochemistry
+ Experience with cell culture
Responsibilities
+ Research and Analysis: Researches literature relating to procedures and experiments. Performs experiments utilizing molecular biology approaches. Manages rodent breeding colony. Performs research in animal models of liver disease. Organizes data, performs data analysis, and prepares images and figures for presentations and manuscripts. Evaluates and analyzes results and make suggestions to resolve problems. Independently pursues an assigned series of processes, procedures or area of research in accordance with general approved plans and procedures. Plans and executes procedures and work details.
+ Laboratory Maintenance: Maintains laboratory equipment and schedules repairs and maintenance. Performs day-to-day cleaning and organization of lab. Places and receives laboratory supply orders. Constructs, modifies, adapts, assembles, and operates scientific and laboratory apparatus and equipment.
+ Computing Equipment: Uses computer equipment for controlling equipment and compiling data. Makes and records observations and measurements. Summarizes and evaluates data for scientific materials requiring academic knowledge. Researches and catalogs reference materials requiring understanding of subject matter theory. Performs other duties as assigned.
