    Position Information

    We are seeking a Senior IT Professional I, under general direction and supervision, to provide senior-level information technology services for the support, management, and planning of classroom and teaching lab environments in the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences (CoALS). This position contributes to the research, implementation, and coordination of educational technology infrastructure using established service standards. The role may also involve collaboration with project teams, coordination with stakeholders, and contribution to governance efforts across the College.

    Responsibilities:

    + Serve as the technical lead for classroom and teaching lab technology, including research, implementation, deployment, and maintenance of instructional hardware and peripherals.

    + Coordinate the installation and support of classroom and lab software systems, both critical and non-critical.

    + Provide technical guidance on the development of classroom and lab computing plans.

    + Analyze and troubleshoot technical issues in classroom and lab environments; formulate and implement recommended solutions.

    + Assist with the design, testing, and coordination of disaster recovery plans.

    + Contribute to developing technical specifications for large and complex purchases of classroom and lab systems.

    + Support information security efforts, including monitoring, maintaining, and restoring system and data integrity.

    + Serve as a resource and point of contact for internal and external departments within CoALS.

    + Participate in College of Agriculture & Life Sciences governance committees, providing insights from the classroom and lab technology perspective.

    + Performs other duties assigned.

    Required Qualifications:

    + Associate’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + Three years of related experience in IT.

    + Strong knowledge of instructional technology, computing systems, machine learning, and IT support services in an academic environment.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft products, including Office 365, Outlook, Copilot, and Teams.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    + Strong analytical, organizational, and interpersonal abilities.

    + Ability to multitask and collaborate effectively within a team and across departments.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience with higher education, IT governance, or committee participation.

    + Familiarity with instructional technology planning and lifecycle management in large-scale academic environments.

    + Working knowledge of disaster recovery planning and implementation.

    + Experience coordinating IT projects and stakeholder communications.

    + Certifications such as ITIL4, BRMP, CAPM, or PMP.

    Other Requirements:

    + Work hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM CST.

    + Work is performed in an office environment.

    + Occasional exposure to loud noise and outdoor environments when traversing managed areas and research sites.

    + Must be able to lift or move and transport heavy objects up to 50 pounds.

    + Must be able to position self to install equipment and occasionally ascend/descend ladders.

    + A company vehicle is not provided.

     

    What You Need to Know

     

    Salary: Pay grade 69. Compensation for this position is commensurate based on the selected candidate’s qualifications.
