    Description

    Join Amazon's Canada Transportation team as a Data Analyst to help optimize our vast transportation network. You'll create robust reporting systems, develop insightful metrics, and build sophisticated analytics and forecasting models to support the delivery of millions of shipments across Canada each year.

    Key Responsibilities:

    - Design and implement structured reporting systems

     

    - Develop key metrics and analytics to drive business decisions

     

    - Create forecasting models to optimize transportation operations

     

    - Extract, process, and analyze large datasets (100K to millions of rows)

     

    - Collaborate with stakeholders to transform business problems into actionable insights

     

    - Utilize BI tools to create impactful visualizations and reports

    - Develop and maintain data pipelines and processes

    A day in the life

     

    As a Data Analyst on our team, you'll start your day by reviewing the latest transportation metrics and identifying areas for improvement. You might spend the morning collaborating with operations teams to understand their data needs and translate them into technical requirements. In the afternoon, you could be deep in SQL queries, extracting and analyzing data from our vast data warehouse. You'll use your programming skills to automate reporting processes and create scalable solutions. Your day might end with presenting your findings to leadership, using data visualizations to tell a compelling story about our transportation network's performance.

    The Canada Transportation team is at the heart of Amazon's logistics operations in Canada. We're a diverse group of problem-solvers, working with one of the world's largest and most complex data environments.     Basic Qualifications

    - 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience

     

    - Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools

     

    - Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines

     

    - Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab

     

    - Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling

    Preferred Qualifications

    - Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift

    - Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
