Key job responsibilities
As a Sr Technical Program Manager, you’ll need to be a pragmatic strategist that can translate business needs into workable technology solutions that scale both technologically and operationally. You will partner with business experts, engineers, UX, and scientists by leveraging new trends in Information retrieval, low latency and high throughput distributed systems, deep learning inference systems, and fault-tolerant application hosting frameworks. Successful candidates will have an established track record of delivery of complex software systems, excellent project management skills, keen technical aptitude, solid communication skills, and be driven to achieve results in a fast paced environment.
1) Own successful delivery of large, high impact and highly cross-functional product initiatives while simultaneously and accurately tracking a set of smaller projects.
2) Drive strategic cross-functional planning, leading discovery and prioritization by closely partnering with product managers and engineering leads to develop program plans that include roadmaps, dependency identifications, and resourcing plans.
3) Manage bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make trade-offs, balance the business needs versus technical constraints, and maximize business benefit while building resilient systems that power great customer experiences.
About the team
The Display Ad Formats team is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing the visual and functional elements of advertising formats across multiple advertising products. This team focuses on creating innovative and effective ad experiences that balance advertiser goals with user experience. We work on everything from standard display units to rich media formats, video implementations, and native advertising solutions, ensuring these formats drive engagement while maintaining platform performance and user satisfaction.
Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 7+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 3+ years of software development experience
- 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience
- Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules
- Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $133,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
