    The NA Amazon Books Supply Chain and Operations team is looking for a customer-focused, driven, analytical, and empathetic leader to manage the NA Supply Chain Management team. This manager would lead a team of Sr. Supply Chain Managers that build and execute strategic, cross-functional roadmaps related to inventory management and customer experience metrics.

     

    This role provides the opportunity to work with global teams and ability to influence cross-marketplace initiatives.

    Areas of ownership for US and Canada

    • Buying and Forecasting.

    • Inventory Availability metrics (Fast Track Instock, SoROOS) and publisher’s order confirmation rate (ACR).

    • Inventory Productivity - Overstock management, optimal inventory health, disposition/removals methods.

    • Promise, Chargebacks, and Efficient Receive.

    • Mass-managed Instock Management (audit and coach at scale publishers that are not actively managed)

     

    The Manager of SCM will lead a high performing team delivering key projects with high level of leadership visibility. This role is critical to manage and optimize complex supply chain, and procurement systems through the lens of delivering an excellent customer experience to readers. The ideal candidate is able to prioritize, lead and influence both internal and external teams in an ambiguous environment, while driving high standards, and leading with empathy.

    Key job responsibilities

    • Manage a high performing team.

    • Prioritize key initiatives.

    • Build technical expertise in supply chain optimization systems.

    • Leverage new and existing mechanisms to manage the team.

    • Work, liaise, and influence internal, external, and partner stakeholders.

    • Leverage data to make recommendations and decisions in order improve metrics.

    • Own multiple projects domestically and in a WW setting.

    • Set goals and manage performance against key operational metrics, individually and for the team.

    • Deliver results.

    • Write and advise on documents to support the progress of the team's roadmaps.

    • Hire and develop SCMs.

    About the team

    The NA Amazon Books Supply Chain and Operations team is part of the WW Books business organization. This team is responsible for US and Canada InStock Management and Services, Bulk Books Operations, and central Supply Chain and Product Management teams focus on Buying, Forecasting, Inventory Availability, Inventory Productivity, Inbound, Efficient Receive, Chargebacks, and Promises.

    Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain, logistics or engineering.

    • 5+ years’ experience in supply chain management, inventory management, or program management

    • 2+ years’ experience leading a high performing team.

    • Experience problem solving independently with high attention to detail, including proven ability to manage multiple competing projects and priorities simultaneously.

    • Experience leading process improvement, systems development, and project management.

    • Experience using SQL, Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, etc.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, Transportation, Logistics, or related field

    • Experience in inventory management, vendor or supplier management.

    • Experience working with complex datasets and data analysis.

    • Supply Chain or Program Management Certifications (e.g., CPIM, CSCP, PMP)

    • Experience owning an end-to-end program strategy, and communicating results to senior leadership.

    Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $126,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $208,300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
