Description

We are looking for a detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team on a contract basis in Baltimore, Maryland. This role is ideal for someone with experience in accounting and a strong understanding of payroll and accounts payable processes. You will play a key role in supporting our finance operations and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions.

Responsibilities:

• Process bi-weekly payroll, including managing timecard systems and finalizing payroll details.

• Oversee accounts payable and purchasing activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

• Set up and maintain vendor accounts.

• Reconcile credit card transactions to maintain accurate financial records.

• Provide prompt assistance for financial inquiries related to payroll, purchasing, and accounts payable.

• Assist in preparing for the annual audit.

• Participate in special financial projects as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred.

• Minimum of three years’ experience in accounting, with nonprofit and fund accounting expertise.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and general accounting software.

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.

• Capability to work independently and meet deadlines.

• Familiarity with payroll systems and accounts payable processes.

• Experience with credit card reconciliation and vendor account management.
