Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Insurance Credit Specialist to join our team on a long-term contract basis. This role will focus on managing credit balances, ensuring accurate refunds to insurance payers, and analyzing claims to identify discrepancies. This fully remote opportunity allows you to bring your expertise in insurance billing and revenue cycle processes to a supportive and collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
• Analyze and resolve credit balances by reviewing overpayments and determining the accurate course of action.
• Conduct thorough investigations into insurance claims to identify discrepancies and ensure proper resolution.
• Process refunds to insurance payers by verifying overpayment details and completing necessary adjustments.
• Utilize payer portals and communication channels to gather information and take corrective action on claims.
• Perform root cause analysis to identify patterns in credit balances and recommend process improvements.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with insurance regulations and billing standards.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions and updates within in-house systems and software.
• Provide insights and feedback during training sessions to enhance team efficiency and knowledge.
• Use tools such as Outlook, Excel, and SharePoint to manage workflows and document activities.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure timely resolution of issues and alignment with organizational goals.
Requirements • Proven experience in revenue cycle processes with a focus on credit balances and refunds.
• Strong background in insurance billing, claims investigation, and collections.
• Proficiency in using accounting software systems, CRM, or ERP platforms.
• Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis and apply critical thinking to problem-solving.
• Familiarity with insurance payers, reimbursement processes, and common insurance forms.
• Skilled in using tools like Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint to manage data and workflows.
• Excellent communication skills to interact with payers, team members, and other stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting deadlines and maintaining accuracy.
