Description
We are looking for a skilled Cost Accountant to join our clients team on a long-term contract basis in Newberg, Oregon. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the financial operations of highly reputable organization. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cost analysis, reporting, and financial systems, along with a strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare and analyze utilization, overhead, and expense reports to support operational efficiency.
• Conduct detailed manufacturing cost and machine maintenance analyses to ensure accurate financial tracking.
• Develop and manage journal entries and general ledger accounts with precision and timeliness.
• Perform cost change analyses, generating multiple reports to support decision-making processes.
• Maintain Power BI dashboards and Power Pivot models for comprehensive financial insights.
• Collaborate with senior management to present findings and address inquiries.
• Monitor and report on backflushed hours, ensuring data consistency and accuracy.
• Support the migration and validation of financial data during system transitions.
• Utilize problem-solving skills to identify discrepancies and improve reporting accuracy.
• Assist in auditing processes and provide recommendations for financial improvements.
Requirements
• Proven experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency in financial analysis tools such as Power BI, Power Pivot, and Excel.
• Solid understanding of journal entries, general ledger accounts, and accounting functions.
• Familiarity with ERP systems
• Strong attention to detail and ability to handle complex financial data.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills to engage with senior management and cross-functional teams.
• Background in costing and manufacturing processes is preferred.
