    Description

    We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Patient Service Representative in the healthcare industry, based in Glen Allen, Virginia. As a Patient Service Representative, you will be the primary point of contact for patients, responsible for managing appointments, maintaining patient records, and coordinating referrals while providing support to the billing team.

    Responsibilities:

    • Act as the main point of contact for all patient inquiries, whether via phone, email, or in person.

    • Schedule, coordinate, and manage patient appointments, handle cancellations or rescheduling requests, and fill open appointments.

    • Verify patient insurance coverage and benefits, assist with insurance-related inquiries, and liaise with insurance providers as necessary.

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient medical records and documentation, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.

    • Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth patient care transitions.

    • Provide support to healthcare providers and clinical staff with administrative tasks as needed.

    • Assist patients with the completion of intake forms and other administrative tasks.

    • Facilitate referrals to specialists or other healthcare facilities as directed by healthcare providers.

    • Provide support to the billing team as needed.

    • Address patient concerns and escalate issues to the appropriate healthcare personnel or manager when necessary.

    Requirements

    • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Patient Service Representative or similar role.

    • Proficient in the use of Allscripts and Cerner Technologies.

    • Strong knowledge of CRM systems.

    • Excellent skills in answering inbound calls and providing customer support.

    • Capable of obtaining authorizations and completing necessary paperwork.

    • Familiarity with benefit functions in a healthcare setting.

    • Experience with billing functions, including invoicing and payment processing.

    • Ability to create and interpret charts and graphs for data presentation.
