    Description of Work

     

    This is an anticipated Vacancy.

    This position is located in the Renewal, Titles and Plate Unit of the Vehicle Services Section. This unit and position provide service to customers in the registering and titling of their vehicles in North Carolina. This position must accurately examine, inspect property tax and renewal registration notices and other registration applications along with the corresponding payment to ensure appropriate information and fees are collected. The employee will calculate fees, some with multiple vehicles and if any incorrect information or fee is submitted, the employee must create correspondence to the customer to provide instructions and calculations needed to continue and expedite the processing of their request. This employee will update STARS for the purpose of creating, updating, and/or modifying registration records if requested changes from the customer. This position is responsible for operating and performing data entry via the Remittance Processor daily.

     

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities / Competencies

    •Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    •Experience in reviewing detailed documents and records for accuracy and authenticity.

    •Experience explaining processes and procedures in accordance with General Statues or office policies and procedures.

    •Experience in customer service, resolving customers issues, and communicating effectively both in oral and written form.

    •Experience in using a 10-key calculator to compare and balance transactions.

     

    Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

    High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and one year of administrative experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
