    Our client, rated a top workplace multiple times over the past few years, is looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their team in the Chicopee, Massachusetts area. This role is ideal for someone with a strong foundation in basic accounting principles, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting essential accounting functions.

    Responsibilities:

    • Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.

    • Prepare and post journal entries to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.

    • Conduct bank reconciliations to verify balances and identify discrepancies.

    • Assist with the month-end close process, including preparing financial statements and reports.

    • Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with established accounting standards and policies.

    • Support audits by providing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.

    • Address and resolve any accounting discrepancies or irregularities.

    • Provide general support for accounting projects and initiatives as needed.

    Requirements

    • 1-3+ years of experience in an accounting role, with exposure to both AP and AR functions.

    • Some exposure to bank reconciliations, general ledger management, and journal entries.

    • Experience with month-end close processes and preparing financial reports a plus, but not required.

    • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.

    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.

    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    • Strong communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
