• Air Import Billing Clerk

    Robert Half Office Team (El Segundo, CA)


    Description

    The Air Import Billing Clerk is responsible for accurately preparing and processing billing documents related to international air import shipments. This role ensures timely invoicing and compliance with customer requirements, internal policies, and industry regulations.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    + Prepare and process invoices for air import shipments in accordance with company and client requirements

    + Verify shipment documents (AWBs, commercial invoices, PODs, etc.) for accuracy and completeness

    + Coordinate with operations, customer service, and accounting teams to resolve discrepancies or obtain missing information

    + Ensure correct application of rates, tariffs, and charges for each shipment

    + Monitor and track billing status to ensure timely processing and follow-up

    + Handle data entry and maintain billing records in internal systems (e.g., CargoWise, SAP, or other logistics platforms)

    + Communicate with clients or vendors as needed regarding billing inquiries or clarifications

    + Assist in month-end closing procedures and reporting

    + Support audits and ensure billing compliance with company policies and industry standards

    Requirements

    + 1+ year of billing or administrative experience in a logistics, freight forwarding, or transportation environment preferred

    + Familiarity with air import processes and shipping documentation is a plus

    + High school diploma or GED required; associate degree or logistics coursework a plus

    + Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

    + Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines

    + Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general computer literacy

    + Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

    + Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment

    + Experience with CargoWise, SAP, or similar logistics/billing software is preferred
