    Description

    We are looking for a Logistics Specialist I to join our team in Joliet, IL. In this long-term contract role, you will play a key part in ensuring the seamless coordination of materials and workflows between departments, aligning with production schedules. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to operational efficiency through detailed planning, tracking, and reporting.

    Responsibilities:

    • Monitor documents, materials, and processes to verify accuracy, completeness, and adherence to specifications and standards.

    • Analyze production schedules, work orders, and staffing requirements to determine material priorities and personnel needs.

    • Record and maintain detailed production data, including raw material usage, production volumes, and quality control metrics.

    • Manage inventory levels by requisitioning and tracking materials and supplies required for production demands.

    • Prepare and distribute reports on shipment schedules, inventory status, and related logistics activities.

    • Ensure compliance with shipping and production laws and regulations.

    • Collaborate with teams to identify and resolve operational issues, ensuring smooth workflow.

    • Utilize computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel for documentation and reporting.

    • Support quality assurance efforts by monitoring production processes and addressing discrepancies.

    • Coordinate with departments to expedite workflow and maintain efficient operations.

    Requirements

    • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

    • Ability to analyze production costs, including materials and labor.

    • Proficiency in documenting and recording customer or client information accurately.

    • Familiarity with laws and regulations pertaining to shipping and production.

    • Experience with computer applications, particularly Microsoft Word and Excel.

    • Knowledge of inventory management and material requisition processes.

    • High school diploma or equivalent education required.

    • 0-2 years of related experience in logistics or production operations.

     

    The hourly salary range for this position is $17.00 to $19.00. Benefits available to contract/temporary professionals, include medical, vision, dental, and life and disability insurance.
