Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in La Jolla, California. This role involves managing financial activities for a portfolio of commercial industrial properties and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reporting, reconciliations, and budgeting, along with a commitment to maintaining high standards.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports, following industry best practices and accounting principles.

• Perform account reconciliations, including bank and deposit reconciliations, to ensure ledger accuracy.

• Identify and address discrepancies in financial statements, bringing issues to the attention of the Controller.

• Assist in developing annual budgets and forecasts by providing detailed financial analysis.

• Support month-end and year-end closing processes using QuickBooks Online or other designated financial software.

• Collaborate with property and asset managers to ensure timely and accurate payment of financial obligations.

• Provide documentation and support for tax preparation and audits as needed.

• Contribute to the implementation and improvement of internal financial controls and procedures.

• Conduct ad hoc financial analysis and prepare reports to support decision-making. Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting, preferably within property management or a similar industry.

• Proficiency in accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger management.

• Hands-on experience with bank reconciliations, journal entries, and trial balance preparation.

• Strong knowledge of month-end close processes and financial statement preparation.

• Familiarity with accounting software such as Yardi and QuickBooks.

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex financial data.

• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
