Sue Sumrell is recruiting for an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead the financial strategy and operations of this culturally rich non-profit organization in Portland, Oregon. This role requires an individual with strong expertise in financial management, compliance, and strategic planning, particularly within non-profit and grant-funded environments. The CFO will play a key role in driving organizational growth and ensuring fiscal responsibility.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, capital management, and cash flow analysis.

• Develop and implement financial strategies that align with organizational goals and ensure long-term sustainability.

• Ensure compliance with federal grants, auditing requirements, and regulatory standards.

• Lead the preparation and execution of single audits for non-profit entities.

• Manage grant funding processes, including application, tracking, and reporting.

• Provide expert guidance on Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs and compliance.

• Collaborate with senior leadership to drive strategic planning and decision-making.

• Monitor financial risks and develop mitigation strategies to safeguard organizational assets.

• Implement and optimize accounting software systems for efficient financial operations.

• Lead and mentor the finance team to foster growth and high performance.

Requirements • Minimum of 15 years of experience in financial management, with a focus on non-profit organizations.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.

• Proficiency in accounting software systems and advanced financial processes.

• Strong knowledge of auditing practices and compliance management.

• Demonstrated experience in managing federal grants and grant funding.

• Expertise in budget processes and capital management.

• Familiarity with Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs.

• Proven ability to lead strategic planning initiatives and drive organizational success.
