Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

     

    We are seeking a highly motivated Structural Engineer, PE to join our team and provide expert support on a wide range of engineering and seismic-related challenges.

    Responsibilities:

    + Provide structural and seismic consultative services, supporting the technical aspects of building design and construction.

    + Analyze proposed site factord conditions and prepare/design maps, graphs, tracings, and diagrams to illustrate findings and inform design decisions.

    + Review and interpret blueprints and structural specifications to determine dimensions, system layouts, and material requirements.

    + Collaborate and communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and stakeholders to deliver technical support and ensure design objectives are met.

    + Participate in detailed design work, including structural and foundation design, preparation of work specifications, cost estimation, and the continuous improvement of design procedures.

    + Work across a variety of functional groups and be directly involved in detailed design activities covering structural and foundational design, preparation of work specifications, cost estimation, and updating design procedures.

    Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree is a plus)

    + Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred or working towards licensure

    + Minimum of 10 years experience with seismic design and analysis is highly desirable

    + Proficiency in structural design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro, AutoCAD)

    + Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
