    Required Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of related experience

     

    Preferred Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field

     

    Experience in supervising, hiring, onboarding, and personnel management

     

    Experience with financial reporting

     

    Experience with budget management, ideally non-profit budgeting

     

    Experience in grant writing and/or corporate sponsorship

    Job Description:

    If so, Reiman Gardens at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for a Business Administrator III position!

    What You’ll Do:

    + Acts as the Fiscal Officer and Cost Center Manager for Reiman Gardens.

    + Prepares monthly, yearly, and forecast budgets and expenditures.

    + Recommends and implements annual budget allocations.

    + Reconciles all monthly statements for ISU and ISU Foundation accounts.

    + Prepares and maintains monthly financial reports to compare monthly revenue reports against expense projections.

    + Coordinates, monitors, and maintains financial functions including purchasing, payroll, personnel, budget, and revenue collection.

    + Approves and processes invoices, transactions, payments, etc.

    + Assists with maintaining and reporting donations and donor communication information to ISU Foundation.

    + Collaborates with interdepartmental teams to create, revise, and implement strategic plans, while partnering on projects, staff development, and facilities.

    + Serves on different committees and workgroups.

    + Directly supervises a small staff of individuals.

    + Provides administrative support such as preparing memos, handling building and contents inventory, performing audits on policies and procedures, etc.

     

    The successful candidate for this position will have strong problem solving skills and have the ability to think outside the box. This individual will also have strong communication and customer service skills.

     

    Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. on an on-going basis without sponsorship.

    Leveling Guidelines

    • Senior-level position possessing high-level professional and/or technical skills working independently under minimal supervision to support ISU’s mission and department or work unit goals

    • Applies senior-level professional knowledge and expertise to work requiring greater latitude

    • Solves moderately complex problems and regularly exercises judgment to determine appropriate action

    • Regularly exercises judgment to resolve problems and determine appropriate action on a broad set of issue and problems. May provide recommendations regarding problems/issues outside the bounds of defined procedures and practices

    • Responds to complicated inquiries, provides training, and provides direction to lower-level staff

    • May provide supervision for one to two other staff (i.e., leads a small work team)

    • May lead projects for which well-defined practices and procedures may not exist

    • Provides guidance to students
