• Half-time Lecturer in Accounting

    Position Summary:

    The Department of Accounting in the School of Business and Entrepreneurship at North Central College invites applications for a Half-time Lecturer in Accounting position, to begin August 2025. The successful candidate will teach two classes in the fall and two classes in the spring, including Principles of Financial Accounting and Managerial Accounting.

    The duties in this role include:

    + Teach 4 classes in an academic year or an equivalent to 16 credit hours with 2 credit hours provided as release time to oversee the VITA program.

    + Teach Principles of Taxation, Advanced Tax and Principle of Accounting courses.

    + Be available to mentor students outside of class (during office hours).

    + Become involved in student organizations, student research etc.

    + Oversee LadderUp/ VITA program.

    + Stay current in the accounting field.

    Basic qualifications are required at the time of application:

    + Applicants must have a master’s or advanced degree in Accounting or a related field.

    + Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, research and ongoing scholarship.

    Preferred qualifications (not required qualifications for the position):

    + Work experience in the discipline, teaching experience, and a CPA or other certifications are preferred.
