    Job summary

    Midland Asphalt Materials Inc., a subsidiary of Barrett Industries Corporation, provides advanced pavement preservation solutions for our customers’ needs. We are currently looking forLaborersout of our Lyons, NY or Tonawanda, NY locations. These laborer positions are part time and will be responsible for all traffic control duties on job sites. The shop/base rate for this position is $17/hour. The job rate for this position is paid according to the NYS Prevailing wage schedule (varies by county), which ranges from $31.65-$41.05 per hour.

    Main Responsibilities

    + Safely maintain traffic control including flagging duties

    + Cleaning and preparing the construction site and pavement surfaces

    + Keep equipment and tools in good working condition

    + Work in a team oriented environment

     

    Requirements and Qualifications

     

    + Must have a valid Driver's License and good driving record

    + Possession of valid CDL is preferred

    + Must be able to obtain OSHA10 certification

    + Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE) as required by Company safety guidelines

    + Regularly required to lift and /or move up to 50 pounds with or without assistance

    + Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

    + Standing/working on feet for long periods, and walking across uneven terrain

    + Frequent exposure to loud noise

    + Regularly exposed to all outdoor weather conditions, dust, and airborne particles

    + Regularly exposed to extended periods of physical activity in extreme heat

    + Regularly exposed to fuel, oil, and other chemicals

    + Required to work varying hours, including nights/weekends, and overnight travel may be required
