This position reports the Georgia Environmental Protection Division- Land Protection Branch Recovered Materials Program- Lead-based Paint and Asbestos Unit. Plans and conducts survey inspections of pre 1978 housing and child occupied facilities, enforces Rules and provides education pertaining to Georgia's Lead Based Paint Hazardous Management and Asbestos Removal and Encapsulation rules, responds to complaints, conducts outreach to affected parties and provides technical assistance to the regulated community and other EPD programs.
NOTE: This position is a remote position expected to cover the Southern/Coastal Area/Districts of the state, particularly E of I-75 and S of I-16 and will do day travel approximately two days per week to work in various locations including Savannah, Brunswick and Valdosta among others.
The position will require the use of a state vehicle which will be housed on state property within the coverage area. The position will also require teleworking with sufficient internet to work connected to agency databases and to act as phone duty officer as assigned. Initial training and occasional refresher will require some overnight travel to the metro region.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in both internal and external customer relations.
Experience in enforcement and compliance inspections.
Experience in the interpretation and application of state and federal regulations.
Knowledge of Federal and State Lead and Asbestos Regulations.
Experience in community outreach projects.
