    This position will act as a problem solver to support Production and Purchasing departments. They will support component selection for new and existing designs. Also, they are responsible for focusing on component applications & working closely with suppliers, customers, design engineering, purchasing and production functions to insure seamless design modifications and upgrades. Expeditious resolution of daily challenges.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Proactively investigates the opportunities for product improvements related to purchased commodities and in-house manufactured parts/assemblies.

    • Reacts quickly to daily challenges presented by suppliers and in-house manufacturing initiatives.

    • Generates test plans, reports and analysis in support of component selection.

    • Generates change notices and related Engineering documentation.

    • Supports scheduled visits to our suppliers.

    • Act as technical resource on various project teams. Investigate problems in Production and act as a problem solver to identify root cause and recommend corrective actions.

    • Prepares engineering estimates as necessary.

    • Provides Material Review Board (MRB) disposition for purchased commodities and manufactured parts/assemblies during all stages of the manufacturing process.

    • Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture,

    • Regular, predictable attendance is required;

    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Job Requirements

    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline from a four-year college or university, Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred.

    • The chosen candidate shall possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and be adept at technical writing.

    • Proficiency in CAD is preferred.

    • The candidate shall be confident regarding decision making based on regulations/requirements stemming from design data, the FAA and customer specifications. Experience with metallic components and a basic understanding of electronics is preferred.
