    The Marketing Assistant Intern will support Savannah Technical College’s strategic marketing and communications initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in professional marketing tasks, focusing on creating impactful campaigns, engaging with various audiences, and contributing to the college's growth and mission.

    Major Duties

    The selected candidate will undertake a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

    • Acting as a liaison between the college and its diverse audiences to promote the college and its programs.

    • Assisting with student recruitment activities, particularly in public and private high schools and middle schools, as needed.

    • Managing and responding to web communication inquiries.

    • Evaluating the effectiveness of marketing strategies by monitoring news releases and advertisements.

    • Designing and producing creative materials such as formal and informal invitations, flyers, postcards, and advertisements.

    • Supporting the planning and execution of special events, projects, and activities for the public affairs, marketing, development, and president’s office teams.

    • Inputting and maintaining student records within the student information system.

    • Providing assistance during the student registration process as required.

    • Performing other related duties as assigned.

     

    Competencies

    Successful candidates for this internship should possess the following skills and abilities:

    • Strong understanding of advertising and marketing principles and concepts.

    • Familiarity with postal regulations and direct mail procedures.

    • Proficiency in utilizing computers and job-related software programs.

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with the public.

    • Solid decision-making and problem-solving capabilities.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • A high school diploma or equivalent.

    • At least one (1) year of work-related experience.

    Preferred Qualifications
