Job Description
An Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist is responsible for overseeing the company’s incoming payments, ensuring timely receipt for goods and services, and accurately recording these transactions in the system.
Responsibilities
+ Generate and send invoices to clients promptly.
+ Process received payments and apply them to the respective customer accounts.
+ Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts.
+ Reconcile the accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments are accurately recorded, addressing any discrepancies in the accounts.
+ Conduct collections calls and send follow-up communications for overdue invoices.
+ Collaborate with customers to resolve billing issues and disputes.
+ Prepare and dispatch statements of accounts.
+ Prepare regular accounts receivable reports, provide audit support, and analyze and report on the aging of accounts receivable.
+ Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries, assisting with billing questions and issues.
+ Issue credit memos for returned or damaged items, or other applicable reasons.
+ Assist Customer Service personnel with pricing issues, returns, and other customer-related concerns.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvement in accounts receivable and propose enhancements.
+ Implement approved process changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Essential Skills
+ Demonstrated experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist or in a comparable position.
+ Strong understanding of bookkeeping and basic accounting practices.
+ Proficiency in advanced Microsoft Office applications, with expertise in Microsoft Excel.
+ Experience with CRM and ERP systems.
+ Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Accounting knowledge.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Word.
+ Experience in collections and customer service.
+ Ability to analyze aging reports.
Work Environment
+ The work environment offers the ability to grow within the organization.
+ The working hours are from 8 am to 5 pm, with some flexibility based on candidate needs.
+ The dress code is business casual, with the option to wear jeans on Fridays or donate to a cause to wear jeans more often.
+ The team consists of 4 support personnel and a VP of Finance
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $26.00/hr.
