    Job Title: Strategic Procurement Manager

     

    Type: Full Time, salaried and benefits

     

    Salary: $120,000-$135,000/year plus bonus

     

    Schedule: Mon-Fri Day Hours

    Overview:

    Specialty Chemical Company is seeking a Strategic Procurement Manager The ideal candidate is a proactive and results-driven professional with extensive experience in strategic planning and procurement, particularly in bulk transportation. This individual will demonstrate the ability to take initiative in negotiating contracts, optimizing supplier relationships, and driving operational efficiencies. With a strong analytical mindset and a collaborative approach, the Strategic Procurement Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement innovative sourcing strategies that align with the company's logistics goals and contribute to significant cost savings.

    Responsibilities:

    + Key team member of centralized Corporate Logistics Purchasing organization that supports the organization.

    + Manager assigned to Bulk Truck, Rail, Barge & Equipment within North America with purchasing responsibility of $100+ million.

    + Collaborate with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, HES, and other groups across the enterprise to qualify suppliers and establish budgetary guidelines for BUs.

    + Facilitate the strategic sourcing process for the appointed transportation spend categories to include market and industry analysis, supplier research and review, category and supplier segmentation, sourcing events, analysis, negotiations, contracting and implementation

    + Directly supports key BUs with transportation optimization and operational support as needed

    Requirements:

    + Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or Business is required; MBA degree preferred

    + Minimum 7 years related experience

    + Transportation procurement experience preferred

    + In depth knowledge of business analytics

    + Significant track record of savings achieved through innovative procurement programs and tactics

    + TMS experience is preferred

    + Experience in sourcing methodology
