    Job Description

    The Materials Team at our West Palm Beach Geared Turbo Fan Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (WPB GTF MRO) facility has an opening for a Materials SIOP Buyer. This role supports sales, inventory, and operations planning by driving Sales, Inventory, & Operations Planning (SIOP) across all functions. You will be responsible for net inventory planning, variance analysis, real-time problem resolution, cost reduction initiatives, and vendor management. A thorough understanding of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems in a manufacturing environment and data-driven decision-making is essential for effective material availability and forecasting.

    Responsibilities

    + Ensure the ordering of material details and buyer queue to meet specific engine sales order requirements

    + Coordinate and expedite purchase orders and update material resource planning (MRP) in SAP

    + Monitor and communicate material shortage risks and mitigation opportunities

    + Attend daily production meetings to report on material and vendor status, address urgent issues, and provide material availability updates

    + Support management and operations requests for information, analysis, and improvement opportunities

    + Investigate and resolve materials inventory and purchase order issues impacting financials and engine turnaround

    + Utilize internal continuous improvement systems to standardize and drive process improvements for materials

    + Review engine material technical requirements prior to inductions for proper material sourcing

    + Travel up to 10% domestically and internationally as needed

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree with 5 years of purchasing experience or an advanced degree with 3 years of purchasing experience

    + Experience with SAP

    + Advanced Excel skills (including VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)

    + Experience sourcing direct materials and placing purchase orders

    + Ability to understand technical writing and read blueprints

    + US Citizenship

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with Smartsheet

    + Six Sigma certifications

    + Excel macros

    + Basic programming knowledge

    + SAP query writing skills

    + Aviation experience

    + Data analytics experience (BI tools)

    Work Environment

    This is an onsite role, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM at the MRO facility. You may be required to support some holidays as needed, with PTO and holiday pay provided

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
