JOB SUMMARY: The Tool and Die PM Technician is responsible for maintaining and documenting the maintenance of equipment that is critical to the production line, such as punch presses, extrusion presses, rolling mills and slitters, and may as needed perform maintenance of materials that require periodic scheduled changing, refilling, or replacing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (COMPETENCIES):
• Inspect and check equipment for proper operating condition, make necessary adjustments, log test readings, and maintain, repair, or replace all essential equipment parts
• Read blueprints, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics, mechanical/electrical diagrams, and technical orders to determine methods and sequences of assembly
• Use hand tools, power tools, fixtures, templates, and microscopes as needed to align, fit, and assemble component parts, or work with other Maintenance personnel to schedule the work
• Assist in the design to fabricate and assemble new or modified mechanical components for products such as industrial machinery or equipment, sensors, lubrication devises, and measuring instruments
• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation, and make recommendations to the engineers and Maintenance Manager
• Perform preventative maintenance according to a pre-determined schedule and calibrate equipment and systems as required and maintain a current log of such maintenance in a data base that is available on demand by supervisors, engineering and management
• Uphold the standards necessary to maintain our business certifications and to maintain good quality standards and practices associated with them
• Perform basic functions, including but not limited to, electrical, mechanical and welding
• Control and document the location (issue/remove) of machinery to the floor; maintain full management of punch press data base
• Build and maintain Bill of Material for the punch press and other equipment
• Follow all established safety procedures when performing job duties and adhere to LO/TO requirements when working on production machinery
• Perform other duties or special projects as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Diploma or GED
• 5 years related work experience
• Basic mechanical and electrical knowledge
• Basic computer skills, specifically Word, Excel and Access
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Prior experience working in a metal fabricating factory
• Experience TIG, MIG and Stick welding
• Experience fabricating from a print or specification drawing
• Experience working on hydraulics
• Rolling mill experience
SHIFT/SITE:
Monday-Friday/ 1st shift: 7:00am-3:30pm/ 5836 Success Drive, Rome, NY
WAGE DISCLOSURE:
The salary range indicated in this posting represents the minimum and maximum of the range for the position. The actual range will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications, and internal equity.
The posted salary range reflects just one component of our total rewards package. Other components include health, dental, and vision insurance, PTO, retirement plan, volunteer opportunities, paid holidays, overtime opportunities, and many more.
$17.50 per hour - $24.50 per hour
($36,500 - $51,000 annually)
