    THE POSITION

    Are you a self-directed professional who enjoys performing a broad spectrum of administrative duties? If so, the PA Food Policy Council has the perfect opportunity for you. We are searching for a dedicated Clerical Assistant 2 to temporarily serve as the administrative support for this program. If you have exceptional communication skills, we want you on our team!     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will provide administrative support to ensure the smooth operation and communications of the PA Food Policy Council, and its meetings, workgroups, subcommittees and other events. This position would also support the Council’s keystone project--development and execution of the state’s first Food Action Plan. This position completes scheduling, calendar management, and correspondence; assists with meeting preparation, including drafting agendas, recording minutes, and distributing materials; maintains files and databases; assists with social media and website updates; and processes invoices, expense reports and reimbursement.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.

    + Work hours are 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday-Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + This is a temporary, wage position with no benefits and is expected to work no longer than 9 months.

    + This position may require travel for Council events and meetings.

    + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time, up to 3 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

    + Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonw ealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting hourly wage of $18.05 (before taxes).

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or

    + Graduation from high school;or

    + An equivalent combination of experience and training.

    Additional Requirements:

    + You must be able to perform essential job functions.

    Preferred Qualifications (not required):

    + Demonstrated experience with project management and research.

    + Experience with food policy development and food systems research.
