    THE POSITION

    If you are a detail-oriented individual with a passion for assisting and supporting others, the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD) has an incredible opportunity for you. We are seeking a Criminal Justice System Specialist 2 to join our Office of Safe Schools Advocacy team. In this position, you will be supporting the Office of Safe Schools Advocate (OSSA) in the Philadelphia School District.     DESCRIPTION OF WORK

    In this role, you will be responsible for gathering information from school officials and providing support to students and their families who have been victims of crime, helping them manage the stress and trauma associated with such incidents. Additionally, you will be involved in analyzing incident data provided by the school district to inform the services provided by OSSA. You will also follow up with victims who have been referred for services and determine the next steps needed for their case. Throughout this process, you will maintain regular communication with school officials, victims, and staff to ensure the school district effectively addresses and mitigates victimization. You will be responsible for communicating any updates or changes to the student and their family.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    + Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week

    + Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.

    + Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days a week. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Philadelphia.

    + Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    + One year as a Criminal Justice System Specialist 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) ;or

    + Two years of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services, and a bachelor’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field;or

    + One year of professional experience in criminal or juvenile justice, law enforcement, or victim services, and a master’s degree in the social or behavioral sciences, criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field;or

    + An equivalent combination of experience and training.
