THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As the Environmental Education Specialist Supervisor, you will play a pivotal role in guiding the creation, execution, and coordination of environmental education and interpretive initiatives across the Hickory Run State Park Complex, which encompasses Hickory Run, Lehigh Gorge, and Nescopeck State Parks. Your responsibilities will include overseeing the development of engaging programs tailored for diverse audiences, including local schools, the general public, professional organizations, and bureau staff. In addition to program development, you will be tasked with monitoring and assessing the effectiveness and outcomes of all educational activities conducted by the Hickory Run State Park Complex Education team. This will involve collecting data, analyzing feedback, and ensuring that the programs meet educational standards and community needs, ultimately fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the natural environment among participants.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Shift hours and days vary due to operational need, with a 30-minute lunch
+ Weekends, holidays and all shifts as needed at 37.5 hours per week
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ One year of experience as an Environmental Education Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
+ A bachelor's degree in environmental education, education, the natural sciences, social sciences, or parks and recreation; and one year of professional experience in the field of environmental education and interpretation; or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.

+ This particular position also requires you to possess a valid driver’s license which is not under suspension.
