THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring all welding work meets quality and safety standards, as well as collaborating with the rest of the team to ensure effective project delivery. Your responsibilities will include a variety of welding tasks, such as welding, brazing, and cutting metals, both ferrous and non-ferrous. You will work independently, effectively performing skilled trades duties that involve repairing components; conducting structural welding on bridge elements; and resolving issues related to equipment frames, hitches, and plows. Furthermore, you will skillfully fabricate repair parts and body components for numerous applications. You will excel in this position if you have an extensive knowledge and experience in welding processes and techniques.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
+ Full-time employment
+ Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, work hours subject to change based on seasonal requirements and operational needs.
+ Travel, overtime and shift work required
+ Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
+ Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39,785 (before taxes).

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
+ Three years of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures;or
+ Completion of a three-year, high school Vo-Tech training program in welding and eighteen months of experience in the operation and use of welding equipment, materials, and related shop equipment to repair, maintain, or fabricate parts, equipment, or structures;or
+ Completion of an approved welder apprentice program;or
+ A welding certificate D1.1 from the American Welding Society;or
+ An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
+ This position requires possession of an active Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.
