Position Description:
Manages personnel and budgetary matters for a department or college. Exercises discretion and independent judgment to oversee the activities of staff and the financial processes to ensure fiscal responsibility of department/college. Ensures staff and faculty have the resources to complete their work. Usually serves as a hiring manager and employee service coordinator.

Major/Essential Functions:
+ Manage daily administrative operations, including schedules and resource allocation.
+ Manage travel and schedules meetings for the Director and Co-Directors.
+ Demonstrate financial stewardship through the development, implementation, maintenance, reconciling and tracking of budgets for the TxPWC.
+ Prepare, maintain, and reconcile business documents, payroll records, and purchase-card reports.
+ Assist in the purchasing of laboratory equipment and supplies.
+ Monitor and support compliance with grant awards and contracts, assisting with grant reports, as needed.
+ Oversee appointments of student assistants, post-docs, and faculty summer salaries for the TxPWC.
+ All other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:
+ Working knowledge of Banner, Cognos, Chrome River, and Kenexa programs
+ Previous experience in higher education, fund accounting, state and federal grants, and financial reporting.

Bachelor's degree and four years of experience developing or managing programs or projects. Additional job related education may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
