    Are you a skilled communicator with a passion for supporting small businesses? The Office of Supplier Development (OSD) is seeking an Outreach Coordinator to join our dynamic team dedicated to helping small businesses with access to state contracting opportunities.

     

    As the Outreach Coordinator, you will lead marketing and communications efforts to promote OSD’s services and events. You’ll take the lead in organizing the Supplier Development Exchange - key statewide event series - and play a central role in coordinating outreach activities with agencies, stakeholders, and advisory groups.

     

    In this role, you will also manage communications and meeting logistics for the Florida Advisory Council on Small and Minority Business Development and the Development Working Group, helping to foster collaboration and drive meaningful change in the small business community.

    Position responsibilities:

    • Develop, plan, coordinate, and execute all aspects of Office of Supplier Development’s regional Supplier Development Exchanges.

    • Coordinate the activities and recommendations of the Florida Advisory Council on Small and Minority Business Development, including meeting minutes, agenda preparation, scheduling meetings, and member communication.

    • Facilitate and coordinate collaborative opportunities with state agencies and various interest groups on behalf of the Office of Supplier Development. Includes managing all aspects of the Development Working Group meetings.

    • Facilitate training and educational opportunities with and among state agencies and interest groups statewide in order to spread in-depth understanding of the Office of Supplier Development’s programs and services.

    • Coordinate marketing efforts that promotes the services and events offered by the Office of Supplier Development.

    • Provide guidance and information related to the Office of Supplier Development’s programs, services, and activities to state agency and other purchasing professionals as well as minority business interest groups and community organizations. Includes responding to inquires and requests related to the Office of Supplier Development.

    • Promote new certified businesses among state agency procurement professionals and other interested groups.

    • Assist the Office of Supplier Development team as needed.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Ability to use standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    • Proficient in using Microsoft office products.

    • Communication Skills.

    • Organizational Skills.

    • Time Management.

    • Experience in marketing, public relations, and communications.

    • Ability to execute event planning and management strategies.

    • Ability to manage projects.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    A minimum of one (1) year experience in the following areas is required:

     

    - public relations, communications, or marketing

     

    - developing, planning, and executing meetings or events

     

    - working with various stakeholders

    Preferred Qualifications:

    - Experience related to training others, public speaking, and public meetings

     

    - College degree preferred
