    Description

    Starting Salary: $156,000

    Purpose of Position:

    The Regional Director is a role model and leader within the organization, overseeing approximately 20 stores across the Rocky Mountain West. This individual must be based in Salt Lake City or willing to relocate. The Regional Director is responsible for driving sales and operational performance, managing expenses and payroll, resolving personnel issues, and ensuring outstanding customer service across all stores in their region. This role requires strategic thinking, problem-solving, and strong leadership to deliver maximum results.

    Sales Growth

    + Identify key seasons for each store and align product availability accordingly.

    + Partner with Managers and Buyers to optimize product placement and increase sales per square foot.

    + Analyze competitors and adjust store offerings and pricing where needed.

    + Help Store Managers identify and capture new customer segments.

    + Maximize conversion rates and increase sales on key items.

    + Monitor and improve department rankings within each store.

    + Train Store Managers on effective sales techniques and daily execution.

    + Support stores in resolving service and operational challenges.

    + Collaborate with corporate support for new store setups and remodels.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    Budget/Payroll Control

    + Oversee store payroll to align with sales trends and control expenses.

    + Guide Store Managers on budget planning and execution.

    + Reduce inventory errors and shrink through focused operational management.

    Operations

    + Lead and develop a high-performing team of Store Managers.

    + Promote and uphold Sportsman’s Warehouse values and culture throughout the region.

    + Train management on effective hiring practices.

    + Ensure accurate inventory through regular cycle count monitoring.

    + Oversee store compliance with web-based responsibilities like fishing reports and event schedules.

    + Ensure merchandise is displayed per corporate layouts.

    + Coordinate promotions and local events with Store Managers.

    + Enforce company policies and operational standards across all locations.

    Communication & Compliance

    + Maintain expertise in state and federal labor laws applicable to the region.

    + Partner with HR to resolve employee issues appropriately.

    + Address and resolve customer complaints to maintain loyalty and satisfaction.

    + Facilitate consistent communication between stores and corporate.

    Requirements Qualifications

    + Strong retail management background.

    + Excellent organizational, communication, math, and problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to manage multiple teams with minimal supervision.

    + Proven ability to manage budgets and deadlines.

    + Highly motivated and results-driven.

    Education/Experience

    + Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field, or;

    + Minimum 10 years of retail management experience.

    + Three or more years of multi-unit retail management experience preferred.

    Supervisory Responsibilities:

    + Manages Store Managers across the assigned region.

    Work Environment/Physical Demands:

    + Must be able to travel up to 70% of the time.
