Hopkins Dining is seeking a **_Dining Marketing Manager_** who will work under the leadership of the Director of Marketing to manage the promotion of our dining program from an innovative, cutting edge and world class perspective. This individual will manage the planning and execution of marketing initiatives related to dining (i.e. special events, meal plan promotion, student engagement). Additionally, this individual will assist in the development of all marketing materials related to dining including but not limited to promotional flyers, social media content and environmental graphics.
Apart from promotional efforts, the Dining Marketing Manager will lead student engagement efforts that include the department’s Student Advisory Board and engaging with various student groups on campus. This role will support in gathering and assessment of customer feedback data. They will monitor results and respond to findings to ensure continuous improvement in processes and programs as well as high levels of satisfaction for students, guests and the JHU community.
This role will continually assess goals, practices and stay abreast of current industry trends that will ensure that Hopkins Dining remains a national leader in higher education dining.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
_Marketing Strategy and Brand Management (40%)_
+ Lead the day-to-day creation and management of marketing and communication strategies for Hopkins Dining.
+ Manage the development, writing, editing and execution of Integrated marketing campaigns across print, digital, and environmental media to support key dining initiatives and events.
+ Conduct interviews, research, and information gathering as appropriate.
+ Serve as the subject matter expert in multiple communication vehicles.
+ Manage all Hopkins Dining digital platforms, including content creation, analytics and community engagement on social media platforms.
+ Develop and manage the Hopkins Dining annual special events calendar aligned with university milestones and cultural moments (e.g., Family Weekend, Convocation).
+ Serve as a brand ambassador, ensuring all materials align with university branding standards and promote a consistent, compelling narrative.
+ Provide editorial oversight and review of communication vehicles for Hopkins Dining.
+ Build partnerships across campus to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
+ Drive implementation of best practices throughout Hopkins Dining.
_Student Engagement & Community Relations (20%)_
+ Lead outreach and engagement efforts through student advisory board, feedback platforms (e.g., TextnTell), and campus partnerships.
+ Serve as the primary liaison for student organizations and other stakeholders related to dining engagement initiatives.
+ Oversee recruitment, training, and mentorship of student marketing interns.
_Marketing Research, Analytics and Assessment (20%)_
+ Collaborate on the design and execution of focus groups, campus mapping studies, competitive analysis, and trend forecasting.
+ Leverage marketing and communication tools such as Google Analytics and survey platforms to track campaign performance and gather actionable insights.
+ Analyze and manage data, to drive strategic improvements and as a vessel for storytelling.
+ Utilize data to manage forecasts.
_Innovation and Strategic Development (20%)_
+ Develop and recommend new original strategies and creative approaches to communicate, market, and promote existing and new locations and concepts to enhance sales and drive customer satisfaction across diverse campus audiences.
+ Develop, propose and execute annual meal campaigns. This will include oral and written presentations and publications to various target groups and stakeholders.
+ Utilize industry trends, patterns, and innovations to propose creative approaches that differentiate Hopkins Dining on a national scale.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
+ Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, Microsoft Office, and digital content platforms.
+ Demonstrated experience managing multiple social media channels and CMS tools (e.g., WordPress).
+ Understanding of marketing metrics, SEO, and digital engagement tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Mailchimp).
+ Exceptional communication skills with strong writing, editing, and presentation abilities.
+ Creative, analytical, and strategic thinker with excellent project management and collaboration skills.
+ Culturally responsive, student-focused, and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality Management or a related field.
+ Four (4) years of related experience.
+ Additional education may substitute for required experience and additional related experience may substitute for required education beyond HS Diploma/Graduation Equivalent, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.
Preferred Qualifications
+ Strong portfolio demonstrating success in digital campaigns, print media, event marketing, and brand storytelling.
+ Experience within higher education, hospitality, or food service preferred.

Starting Salary Range: $62,900 - $110,100 Annually ($70,000 targeted; Commensurate w/exp.)

The listed salary range represents the minimum and maximum Johns Hopkins University offers for this position, based on a good faith estimate at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary depending on factors such as location, skills, experience, market conditions, education, and internal equity. Not all candidates will qualify for the highest salary in the range.
