    Our Organization and Mission: The Office represents the State of Florida in state and federal civil and criminal courts, from trial courts to the Supreme Court of the United States.

     

    Position Summary: This position is in the Office of the Attorney General within the Information Technology (IT) in Tallahassee, Florida.

     

    Pay: $63,000 - $68,000 Annually

    Qualifications:

    Eight (8) years of experience in computer systems analysis and computer programming or in planning or designing distributed computer systems; or

     

    A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of experience as described above; or

    A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with majorcourse study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems; and three (3) years of experience as described above; or

    A master’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems; and two (2) years of experience as described above;or

    A doctorate from an accredited college or university with major course of study in one of the computer sciences or in management information systems and one (1) year of experience as described above; or

    60 semester or 90 quarters hours of college course work from an accredited institution which includes four courses in computer science or management information systems can substitute for two (2) years of experience; or

     

    Completion of a one (1) year program of study from a vocational/technical school in an area of data processing (excluding data entry) can substitute for one year of the required experience.

    The Work You Will Do: The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

    Primary duties and responsibilities consist of the application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications. The design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing or modification of computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on and related to user or system design specifications. The design, documentation, testing, creation or modification of computer programs related to machine operating systems.

     

    This position will serve as the technical lead as it relates to our file servers on local area networks in regional offices statewide. Responsible for configuration, procurement, installation, support, maintenance and standardization of file servers on LAN/WAN statewide.

     

    Responsible for analyzing, planning, designing and implementing networked computers on the local area network and wide-area network including hardware, software, communications and telecommunications components of distributed systems.

     

    Troubleshooting, testing, and supporting of in-house software applications utilized on networked computers. Performs on-going networking audits and backups. Ensure security and integrity of distributed network systems.

     

    Perform analysis and resolution of network hardware/software and telecommunications using diagnostic software and/or technical troubleshooting processes. Takes preventative or corrective action to maintain system operations, resolving problems associated with the operating systems, telecommunications or hardware.

     

    Serve as backup support and maintenance for the agency infrastructure and WAN environment.

     

    Responds to user requests for assistance with agency standard software applications, providing sufficient assistance to ensure resolution of problems.

     

    Perform other related work or projects as directed/required by the Information Technology Director or Information Technology Deputy Director.

     

    This position may require working beyond the normal work period and in regional offices outside the Tallahassee work location.
