COLORADO STATE VETERANS COMMUNITY LIVING CENTER – HOMELAKE:
To ensure a safe, sanitary, well maintained, comfortable living and working environment for residents of a 60-bed skilled nursing home and 50-unit domiciliary, staff and visitors. The facility has embraced the Culture Change and Eden concepts. We strive to provide exemplary service to the residents by fulfilling daily and special requests that the residents may have. Exemplary care is given in cleaning and sanitizing and in keeping the resident rooms and their atmosphere clean, organized, homelike and safe. We need to provide the residents with the kind of service that they need and deserve.

Description of Job
This is a full-time, temporary position estimated to end on 03/15/2026.
Please note: These working arrangements are subject to change.
This work unit exists to provide continuous 24-hour care to NH residents requiring skilled nursing services. The goal is to maintain residents at their highest level of functioning and provide quality nursing care.
Additionally, as a Client Care Aide I you can expect to:
+ ADL care to residents assigned including but not limited to i.e.: Sitter 1:1 with residents, ambulation, ROM, dressing, toileting, bathing, transferring, positioning, lifting, skin care and/or assist with feeding
+ Care of resident belongings, room care: organized and floor areas free of clutter, moisture
+ Follow proper infection control practices via the use of standard precautions. Communicates with others to ensure proper resident care and work completion
+ Maintains resident care and equipment such as cleaning oxygen concentrators, filling portable oxygen tank, maintain/disinfecting tubs, and showers, changing lift batteries etc
+ Report to charge nurse as to pertinent care issues: skin condition, falls, family concerns, and behaviors
+ Complete all documentation necessary for shift in the electronic heath record: including but not limited to, intake sheets, bath sheets, WEIGHTS, vital signs, bowel movement. Will occasionally transport resident, so will require a driver license
+ Performs other job related duties as assigned or required.
Minimum Qualifications, Substitutions, Conditions of Employment & Appeal Rights
Special Qualifications:
+ Must possess valid CNA license from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies.
Minimum Qualifications
Education/Licensure/Certification/Experience:
+ High school diploma or General Educational Diploma (GED)
Substitution:
+ A valid Certified Nurse Aide license (CNA) from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies will substitute for high school diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Experience assisting residents with their Assisted Daily Living (ADL) care in a long-term care setting
+ Experience in resident transfers
+ Experience in resident ambulation
+ Experience recording intake and output measurements
+ Experience in assisting residents during meals
Required Competencies:
+ Follow prescribed policies and procedures even if they may conflict with my "personal" preferences.
+ Ability to work with staff and patients of diversity to include social, economic, ethnic, and religious backgrounds in a long term setting.
+ Ability to assist clients with disabilities to do their personal care needs/activities of daily living.
+ Ability to assist clients with a range of moods and behaviors, while utilizing tactfulness and congenial personal manner.
+ Ability to work with long-term clients.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
+ CDHS employees (all Direct contact with vulnerable persons):
CBI name check and fingerprint check, ICON Colorado court database, Medicare fraud database, Reference Checks, Professional License verification (licensure requirements), Drug Screen, PREA (Division of Youth Services), Trails check (direct contact with children), CAPS (direct contact with adults – Mental Health Institutes, Regional Centers, Veterans Community Living Centers)
+ A Tuberculosis Test (TB) will be required upon hire.
+ Shift Work : Weekends, Holidays, Nights, Days, Evenings
+ Must possess a current/valid and unrestricted US
+ Must possess and maintain a current and valid Colorado CNA license obtained from the Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies
+ Travel: Transporting SNF/DOM residents in a State Vechicle
+ Former State employees who were disciplinarily terminated or resigned in lieu of termination must disclose the information on the application and provide an explanation why the prior termination or resignation should not disqualify the applicant from the current position. Absent extraordinary circumstances, prior disciplinary termination or resignation in lieu of termination will disqualify the applicant from future State employment with CDHS.

An appeal or review must be submitted on the official appeal form, signed by you or your representative.
