Design Center Sales Consultants work with a wide range of customers, including builders, designers, architects, and homeowners to specify decorative plumbing, lighting, vanities, and hardware, provide technical assistance, and an elevated level of customer service to fulfill our customers’ needs and expectations with their kitchen and bathroom projects. Provide expert guidance from the planning and design process to after sales service.
Main Responsibilities
Customer Engagement & Consultation:
+ Greet and assist walk-in customers, designers, and trade professionals.
+ Provide expert advice on kitchen and bath products including faucets, sinks, tubs, vanities, and accessories.
+ Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate product solutions based on functionality, style, and budget.
Sales Process:
+ Manage all stages of the sales process: Generate quotes, prepare sales orders, and follow up on leads and open quotes.
+ Close sales by educating customers, providing detailed product information, and building long-term relationships.
+ Coordinate with internal teams and vendors to confirm pricing, availability, and delivery timelines.
+ Reach assigned sales targets set forth by manager.
+ Identify and create new customers through building strong relationships with contractors, builders, retail customers and any other leads.
Product Knowledge & Display Maintenance:
+ Stay up to date on new product lines, features, trends, and industry standards.
+ Help maintain a clean, welcoming, and organized showroom floor.
+ Ensure showroom displays are well-maintained, fully stocked, and reflect current marketing materials.
+ Participate in product training sessions and vendor presentations.
Customer Support & Order Management:
+ Track orders, resolve issues related to shipments, returns, or defective merchandise in a professional manner.
+ Serve as a point of contact from the initial consultation through to product delivery and post-sale support.
Collaboration & Communication:
+ Work closely with the warehouse, purchasing, and outside sales reps to ensure a seamless customer experience.
+ Attend team meetings and provide feedback to help improve showroom processes and customer service.
+ Collaborate with vendors to follow up on orders and stay up to date with product information.
Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
Experience:
+ 2+ years of experience in retail or showroom sales, ideally in kitchen and bath, plumbing fixtures, or home improvement.
+ Experience working with interior designers, contractors, or in B2B sales is a plus.
Skills :
+ Must have excellent problem-solving, multitasking, listening, and interpersonal skills.
+ Proficiency with computers and POS and/or data management systems (Microsoft Office, CRM tools).
+ A passion for customer satisfaction, design and a good eye for aesthetics.
+ Must be able to engage in a consultative sales approach with all different types of customers.
+ Strong sales aptitude, ability to build rapport with clients and effective negotiation skills.
+ Able to meet deadlines, be detail oriented and be organized.
Preferred Knowledge:
+ Familiarity with major kitchen and bath brands (e.g., Delta, Moen, Grohe).
+ Understanding of wholesale pricing, special orders, and lead times.
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints or design plans is a plus.
Work Schedule:
+ Full-time, including occasional Saturdays (based on showroom hours)
Compensation: Hourly wage paid weekly + monthly commissions based on sales.
