Job Description
BAE Systems Jacksonville Ship Repair is hiring a Craft Supervisor in the Pipe Department. The Craft Supervisor reports directly to the department Craft Manager. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing Pipe Department (regular and temporary employees), providing technical assistance, assigning work on multiple assignments during a workday, monitoring progress onboard vessels and ensuring that all employees comply with company policies and procedures and translates customer s requirements into a working product.
Responsibilities:
+ Responsible for ensuring that company goals for Safety, Quality and Productivity are aggressively pursued
+ Oversee and monitor schedule performance including review of ongoing and upcoming projects, investigate late activities, and assist project supervision in development of practical solutions
+ Monitor and evaluate project budget performance including review of ongoing and upcoming projects, develop productivity enhancements and investigate over-budget items
+ Oversees and plans material requirements needed for worked projects and that it is received on time to meet the production requirements
+ Demonstrates on a daily basis Ownership, Responsibility and Accountability
+ Allocate personnel and resources to efficiently support all contracts (including shift work)
+ Review project schedules and budgets during the planning phase
+ Ensure that Company policies are adhered to and the policies are clearly understood by subordinates (ISO, Environmental and Safety). Train and motivate employees in the areas of technical knowledge, safety, environmental and interpersonal communication.
+ Ensure that inter-departmental relations are maintained
+ Perform similar, incidental and other duties as assigned
+ Must be able to obtain and maintain DBIDs
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
+ High School/GED
+ Must have a minimum of 5 years experience in the trade
+ Have knowledge and understanding of all ship board piping systems
+ Previous leadership experience
+ Capable to use and navigate Microsoft Office/Excel effectively
+ Exhibit sound interpersonal skills when communicating with the workforce, project team and customers
+ Assists workers in resolving technical problems. Leads continuous improvement. Willingly offers his/her own ideas and ideas of other employees **.**
+ Ability to plan, layout schedules, and supervise the work in an effective and cost-efficient manner
+ Generate estimates for pipe related work
+ Considerable knowledge of the policies and procedures that are relevant to the Pipe Shop
+ Able to meet the physical requirements of going onboard ships, vessels, barges and transit ladder waysMust be able to obtain and maintain Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) access card.
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
+ Previous supervisory experience in a Pipe Department
+ Apprentice Graduate
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $73778 - $125422
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
