Job Description
Join BAE Systems as a Senior Director of Procurement to lead a team of geographically dispersed procurement professionals and drive business growth through effective procurement strategies, process improvements, cost savings, and supplier relationships. A primary responsibility for this position will be to for implement the company's A3 strategy leveraging Automation, Artificial Intelligence, and Autonomy (A3) to streamline and digitize internal processes.The successful candidate will have a proven track record of developing and implementing procurement strategies that align with the company's overall business objectives, participation in internal and external audits, and have a strong understanding of procurement best practices including supplier contract negotiations.

Working Conditions:
+ This is a full-time position with a regular schedule of 40 hours per week.
+ Some travel required to meet with internal stakeholders, geographically diverse staff, suppliers, and attend industry and corporate events.

Key Scope Responsibilities:
1. Develop and Execute Procurement Strategy:
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with business objectives.
+ Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supplier relationships leveraging Automation, AI, and Autonomy.
+ Develop and maintain a comprehensive procurement plan including budget, timelines, and resource allocation.
2. Lead Procurement Teams:
+ Oversee a team of procurement professionals including sourcing, contract management, and supplier relationship management.
+ Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
+ Provide vision and leadership to department employees to develop and maintain a high-performing team.
+ Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations including DCMA CPSR requirements.
3. Supplier Relationship Management:
+ Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
+ Negotiate contracts and agreements that meet business needs.
+ Identify and mitigate supplier risks.
4. Cost Savings and Process Improvements:
+ Develop and implement initiatives to reduce costs, improve processes, and create efficiencies.
+ Analyze data to identify areas for improvement and measure the effectiveness of initiatives.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders to implement changes and ensure sustainability.
5. Stakeholder Management:
+ Communicate procurement strategies, plans, and results to stakeholders including senior leadership, business units, and suppliers.
+ Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and support.
+ Earn and maintain confidence of program offices to become a trusted business partner working closely with Contracts, Finance, Engineering, Program Managers, and other adjacent organizations.
+ Represent sector/business areas at the corporate level keeping business best interests in place.
6. Talent Development and Management:
+ Lead and develop a high-performing procurement team with a focus on autonomy and innovation.
+ Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to ensure team members have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed.
7. Procurement Process Improvement:
+ Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs incorporating autonomy and innovation principles.
+ Collaborate with IT to implement procurement technology solutions.
8. Risk Management:
+ Identify and mitigate procurement-related risks.
+ Develop and implement risk management strategies to ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Required Skills and Education
1. Education:
+ Bachelors degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
+ MBA or advanced degree preferred.
2. Experience:
+ Minimum 12 years of experience in procurement with a minimum of 7 years in a leadership role.
+ Proven track record of developing and executing procurement strategies that drive cost savings and process improvements.
+ Experience with Artificial Intelligence (AI) procurement process development and management/A3 principles including Automation, Artificial Intelligence, and Autonomy and their application in procurement.
+ Working knowledge of FAR/DFAR and government regulations.
3. Skills:
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
+ Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to motivate and manage personnel.
+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
+ Proficiency in procurement software and systems including ERP and procurement platforms.
+ Financial acumen.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
4. Certifications: Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred or equivalent experience.
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $154815 - $263185
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
