_POSITION SUMMARY:_

The Upholstery Assembler position is responsible for putting the vinyl covers on the production and warranty furniture components and securing them in place.

_ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:_

+ Installs vinyl covers on furniture parts using various stretching, pulling, and shaping techniques.

+ Staple the covers to the furniture parts by using air powered stapling equipment.

+ Inspects finished product for quality upon completion.

+ Performs various manual assembly operations such as: trimming, hinge installation, and foam gluing.

+ Collects foam pieces in bundles.

+ Operates and performs daily cleaning and maintenance on various assembly machines such as: snap, hydem embossing, heat transfer and screen printing.

+ ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

_EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:_

+ Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or Equivalent

+ Preferred Degree: Former Apprenticeship or associates degree preferred

+ Experience: 1 year experience preferred, but not necessary

_KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY:_

+ Ability for rapid mental and muscular depth perception

+ Repetitious work

**_INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT_** :

+ Performs tasks and duties under direct supervision, using well-defined policies and procedures. Work is reviewed by supervisor. Limited opportunity exists for exercising independent judgment and decision making.
