Position Description:

Kansas Gas Service has a fleet of over 400 vehicles a hundreds of other construction equipment. Our Auto Repair Technicians (ART) play a critical role in keeping our operations employees on the road and in the field. Our ARTs will:

Assist with and perform mechanical work on company vehicles and special equipment which will include:

+ Internal combustion, diesel, and natural gas powered engines

+ Boring machines, trenchers, augers, and tractors

+ Generators and electric motors

+ CNG equipment

+ Welding and fabrication

Maintain and prepare reports and records including but not limited to:

+ Work logs and service orders

+ Engine/equipment maintenance and repair records

+ Pressure readings

+ Material and supply orders

+ Time sheets

Perform diagnostic work on equipment utilizing electronic equipment and computer programs.

The standard work hours for this position are Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and overtime may be required but will be limited. Our ARTs are also on rotating on-call, approximately every four weeks. Overnight travel to western Kansas Gas Service territories and service centers may be required.

We desire someone with customer service skills, problem solving skills, and the ability to work well on a team.

We require all prospective candidates to have demonstrated automobile and diesel repair knowledge and skills, as well as a minimum of two T2 - T7 ASE qualified certificates.

Required experience:

+ Experience reading and interpreting work and repair orders, charts, diagrams, dials, gauges, warranties, and vehicle and equipment manuals.

+ Excellent driving record is required as this position will drive and operate a company service truck. CDL or ability to obtain

+ CDL is required within 90 days of hire.

+ Basic computer knowledge, data entry, and Outlook email skills.

Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
