    Enterprise Charter School (ECS) Overview:

    Enterprise is a public charter school in Buffalo, New York educating children in kindergarten through eighth grade. Founded in 2003, ECS is committed to "Engaging young minds through projects and partnerships."

     

    We pursue our mission through our Charter's key design elements, with our primary focus on highly engaging project-based learning, comprehensive arts education, and individualized instruction for enrichment and acceleration. We celebrate diversity and inclusion and engage a variety of partners to support our students academically, socially, emotionally, and culturally.

     

    Enterprise Charter School is seeking talented and creative special teachers for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering instruction to students in a particular discipline (such as music, theater, dance, art or physical education). As part of our specials department, this team member willlead engaging classes, contribute to student performances, and support the holistic growth of our students. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience teaching in their preferred content area as well as teacher certification.

    + Accountable for students' success and believes Enterprise's students must receive the highest quality education possible in order to close the achievement gap

    + Serves as an advocate for racial equity with the school's colleagues, parents, students, community, and external stakeholders to promote equity in education and closure of the achievement gap

    + Demonstrates a racial equity mindset through awareness of biases and leads with a racial equity lens

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    + Preparing students to demonstrate their unique talents and skills in formats that are appropriate to their discipline (for example, team sports competitions, musical productions, concerts, dance recitals and art shows).

    + Demonstrating an interest in working with students from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds.

    + Remaining empathetic to students' previous experiences and, at the same time, holding our students to high expectations.

    + Creating a positive, safe and collaborative classroom environment for students.

    + Continuously strengthening their classroom community by investing students and families in our school values.

    + Attending all required meetings to ensure strong schoolwide communication and professional development.

    + Participating in meetings with their coach to support their development, including observation and feedback meetings and planning meetings.

    + Collaborating with coaches and peers to share best practices and build a strong adult culture.

    + Adjusting instruction as needed to meet the unique needs of our students, including by adjusting to support the different learning styles and academic readiness of their students.

    + Modeling, teaching and upholding the use of school-wide systems and structures

    + Participating in whole school events and home visits to help build strong trusting relationships with students and their families

     

    Enterprise Charter School offers a competitive salary, health benefits and is a member of the NYS Teacher Retirement System. Our teaching salary scale starts at $45,900 for the 2025-2026 school year.
