Your Job:
1. **Inventory Management: **
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels of medical supplies and equipment specific to the emergency department (ED).
- Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and ensure accurate stock counts.
2. **Ordering and Procurement: **
- Place orders for medical supplies and equipment based on usage patterns and departmental needs.
- Collaborate with vendors to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to ensure timely replenishment of supplies.
3. **Receiving and Distribution: **
- Oversee the receiving process for all supplies, ensuring accurate documentation and quality control upon delivery.
- Distribute supplies to appropriate areas within the ED, ensuring that staff has timely access to necessary materials.
4. **Data Management: **
- Maintain accurate records of supply usage and inventory levels in the inventory management system.
- Analyze usage data to identify trends and forecast future supply needs.

5. **Collaboration: **
- Work closely with ED staff, including physicians, nurses, and administrative personnel, to understand supply needs and address any shortages or issues.
- Collaborate with other departments (e.g., purchasing, finance) to streamline supply chain processes and improve efficiency.
6. **Compliance and Standards: **
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards related to medical supplies.
- Maintain awareness of industry best practices and advancements in supply chain management.
- Ensure all equipment is in working order and that no equipment is out of maintenance date.
7. **Cost Control: **
- Monitor supply expenses and identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising patient care.
- Assist in developing and implementing budgetary strategies for the ED supply chain.
8. **Training and Support: **
- Provide training to ED staff on proper supply handling, usage, stocking and inventory procedures.
- Act as a resource for staff inquiries regarding supplies and equipment.
9. **Problem-Solving: **
- Address any supply-related issues or emergencies in a timely manner to minimize disruptions in patient care.
- Develop contingency plans for critical supply shortages or supply chain disruptions.
10. **Reporting: **
- Prepare regular reports on supply usage, inventory status, and cost analysis for ED management.
- Participate in staff meetings to discuss supply chain challenges and opportunities for improvement.
Your Job Requirements:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current Basic Life Support Certification required; Advanced Cardio Life Support preferred
• Current Texas EMT-P certification (license required)
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support recommended
• 1 year as a paramedic in pre-hospital or hospital setting;2 years experience as EMT-P (preferred)
