    Application Support Transmission Analyst

     

    _This position will be located at Forest Park Building 6 in Atlanta, GA_

    JOB SUMMARY

    This role involves supporting the administration, maintenance and providing end user support of Southern Company’s custom-built Transmission Estimating and Management System (TEAMS) application. The analyst will support customers in various departments and partner with the Southern Company Technology Organization. Responsibilities include end user support, reproducing bugs, documenting enhancements, testing code changes, making data repairs, and utilizing tools for low-code development. The position also requires collaboration with auditors and AFT (Accounting Finance & Treasury) Organization due to TEAMS KFA (Key Financial Application) designation.

    JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    This position is responsible for the following activities and technical support functions:

    + Administration of TEAMS user roles

    + Support TEAMS technical training activities

    + Document work processes to facilitate knowledge transfer

    + Conduct application testing activities

    + Respond to data query requests (i.e. audits, accounting, compliance reporting, etc.)

    + Material Library maintenance

    + Data maintenance, including Facilities name changes, Data repairs, Basic Units and assemblies, Key marks and Maximo numbers, material and budget data, etc.

    + Monitor integrations with multiple applications

    + Provide end user application support

    + Identify and prioritize future enhancements in TEAMS

    + Monitor application to ensure the application meets all KFA (Key Financial Application) requirements

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS

    Education & Experience:

    + Bachelor’s or associate degree in engineering, Engineering Technology, Computer Science, and Computer Information Systems preferred but not required.

    + Data management skills with experience in writing or using SQL queries are required

    + Experience in TEAMS (Transmission Estimating and Management System) application is a plus

    + Experience using Oracle Projects, Power Plan, Primavera, Maximo is a plus

    + Experience with Microsoft Access, Toad, Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio is a plus

    + Experience with programming languages is preferred (e.g. C#, Visual Basic/VBA, PowerShell, etc.).

    + Experience in Frameworks/Platforms .NET Core/.NET Framework, Web API is a plus

    + Experience supporting applications that support electric utility accounting is a plus

    + Experience with relational databases is preferred (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MS Access)

    + Experience writing in PowerBI or BI Publisher is a plus

    + Previous experience providing front line end user support to multiple user groups is a plus

    + Experience providing technical support and troubleshooting applications is a plus

    + Experience working in the Electrical Utility or Energy field is a plus.

    + Experience providing information technology support preferred

    + Experience providing customer support preferred

    + Strong computer skills in standard software packages such as Microsoft Office required

    + Proven high degree of accuracy and quality of work results required

    + Ability to effectively manage multiple projects & tasks with shifting priorities.

    + Ability to build relationships at all levels and work in a team atmosphere.

    + Ability to work with business partners and peers of varying levels of technical proficiency

    + Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

    + Strong skills in problem solving, decision-making, and multi-tasking.

    + Ability to analyze data and communicate insights effectively (verbal/written)

    + Self-directed with strong initiative

    + Customer focused approach

    + Follow through on all aspects of assignments to ensure quality solutions and increased value is delivered to customers.
