    Job Description

    Food Service Supervisor

    SUMMARY:

    + Coordinate and assign the daily workflow of associates promoting operational efficiency. Ensure associates understand their duties and delegated tasks.

    + Direct associates to ensure all quality, quantity, and timing objectives are met in an efficient and effective manner.

    + Direct the preparation and cooking of food according to the menu cycle, standardized recipes, production sheets, and the direction of management. Provide guidance to cooks on menus, recipes, and production sheets initiating constructive feedback and coaching when necessary.

    + Supervise the service of meals providing guidance on portion control, food presentation, and food handling as needed. Provide constructive feedback and coaching when necessary.

    + Ensure refrigeration and food temperatures are recorded consistently.

    + Inspect the kitchen, work areas, utensils, and equipment daily. Ensure associates are following the Sanitation Schedule to ensure proper sanitation.

    + Provide direction to associates in areas such as customer service, quality control, food safety, and cleanliness.

    + Prepare and serve meals as needed.

    + Consistently adhere to operational and safety policies and procedures.

    + Maintain an understanding of MSDS and properly use and maintain chemicals utilized within the kitchen.

    + Maintain confidentiality of client, patient, and/or student information.

    + Properly escalate client, patient, or student concerns to management.

    + Consistently follow the approved company uniform standards, as well as health and grooming standards.

    + Participate in and complete in-service training, safety training, and all other training programs assigned.

    + All other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    Required Qualifications and Competencies:* High school graduate or equivalent.* Must be proficient in recipe procedure, cooking techniques.* Ability to speak and read English in order to understand and perform job assignments.* Extensive physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting up to 40lbs, bending, pushing, and pulling.* Exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) due to cooking and refrigeration equipment.

     

    + Minimum of 1 year prior experience in food service supervisor role preferred.

    + Must be Serv Safe certified or willing to obtain certification within 90-days of entering position.

    + Must have a basic knowledge of food service sanitation and proper food handling skills.

    This position requires the following pre-employment background checks and clearances:

    + State Police

    + Child Protective Services

    + FBI

    + Drug Screen

    + PPD Screen

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    + Ability to assess the workflow of the kitchen and make adjustments as needed.

    + Ability to delegate tasks to associates and verify completion.

    + Ability to evaluate the performance of associates, identify areas of improvement, and provide guidance on corrective actions.

    + Must possess and display leadership and team management skills.

    + Must possess and display a positive attitude as well as the ability to motivate others.

    + Ability to work in a fast paced environment with deadlines.

    + Must possess strong organizational skills.

    + Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.

    + Must possess problem solving skills with the ability to make quick, appropriate decisions.

    + Ability to provide excellent customer service regularly, displaying a friendly, courteous attitude.

    + Maintain a current knowledge of food service sanitation and proper food handling skills.

    + Display professional communication skills with client staff and Lintons’ associates

    + Ability to use industrial equipment as well as standard kitchen utensils.

    + Ability to read and understand menus and recipes.

    + Ability to stand and walk on concrete and tile floors for up to 8 hours at a time.

    + Ability to safely lift, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.

    + Ability to withstand a wide range of temperatures.

    + Proficient in the operation of a personal computer including Microsoft Office Suite.

    Qualifications:

    + Minimum of 2 years prior experience in food service cooking required. Prior experience cooking in contract food service a plus.

    + Work Schedule

     

    Hours of operation are 6am-6pm. Days and hours may vary, no late nights!
