    Overview

     

    Intuit is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Core Platform Production Engineering Team. The position entails ensuring the consistent operation and reliability of the IKS AIR (Intuit Kubernetes Services AI-Powered Runtime) Platform across Intuit. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining IKS AIR clusters hosting Intuit flagship products of TurboTax, Quickbooks, Mailchimp, as well as Intuit Platforms such as Identity API Gateway, and Service Mesh. They will be involved in all aspects of IKS AIR cluster deployment, service adoption, configuration, optimization and troubleshooting. The ideal candidate must have expert knowledge of Kubernetes architecture, networking, troubleshooting tools and automation.

    What you'll bring

    + A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field with a focus on AI, Software Development, and Operations.

    + Proven expertise in building, upgrading, and managing Kubernetes clusters.

    + 7+ years of experience working in production engineering, building and managing large-scale systems on AWS.

    + 7+ years of solid development experience in building RESTful services using Go, Python, Java/J2EE (Spring, MVC, and Hibernate), and/or NodeJS. Candidates with experience in open-source development will be preferred.

    + Experience with the development of applications and services in AWS, leveraging native cloud services and APIs.

    + Hands-on experience working with Kubernetes, Docker, Springboot, React, and DynamoDB.

    + Experience in using java unit testing frameworks like JUnit and Mockito.

    + Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools such as Splunk, Wavefront, AWS CloudTrails, and Micrometer.

    + Experience working in Java and Linux environments.

    + Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.

    How you will lead

    + Applies comprehensive understanding of the business, customer needs, and the solutions to expertly design, develop and implement operational capabilities, tools and processes that deliver highly available, scalable and reliable customer experiences.

    + Utilizing your extensive expertise in reliability engineering, platform engineering, and connected services, you will leverage your broad and deep knowledge of industry best practices, GenAI, LLMs, and innovative thinking to bring transformative operational approaches and solutions. By utilizing your expertise in these areas, you will drive impactful changes, significantly enhancing efficiency and productivity and setting new standards in operational excellence.

    + Expertly build, operate, and scale IKS AIR services running on AWS, collaborating closely with Intuit Product and Platform Development Teams to create highly available cloud architectures.

    + Contributes to critical platform components FMEA (Failure Mode Effective Analysis) and Chaos Engineering, identifying resiliency gaps and preparing the team for faster recovery from production incidents.

    + Uncovers cost-saving opportunities by contributing to cost and capacity management for various platform components.

    + Develop observability components with massive scale for platforms to detect issues quickly and isolate the problem as part of fast recovery.

    + Build automation for operational insights and analytics to gather, analyze, correlate data about infrastructure, deployment, incident, and change activities.

    + Diagnose and troubleshoot build, deployment and infrastructure issues.

    + Debugging and automating day-to-day operational tasks.

    + Provides application operational support from inception to retirement.

    + Troubleshooting complex issues and managing stakeholder expectations during incidents.

    + Participate in IKS AIR support rotations along with the IKS Production Engineering Team.

    + Drive and own Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for specific applications.

     

    _Intuit provides a competitive compensation package with a strong pay for performance rewards approach. The expected base pay range for this position is:_

     

    _Southern California $184,500 - $250,000_
