Position Overview

The Graphics Technician will support in-house ad production by creating page layouts for the weekly circular. This role works closely with crossfunctional retail teams to prepare print-ready advertising that communicates to the consumer in a clear and concise manner. Success will be defined by time management to meet deadlines, increase store traffic and increase weekly sales.

Description

+ Produce electronic composition of text and product art on ad pages of the weekly circulars based on information retrieved from the sales database, that is submitted by the merchandising departments.

+ Work closely with the department head, merchandising team and retailer to enhance the presentation of the weekly circular by incorporating new or pre-existing designs and ensures proper placement and execution.

+ Work with Merchants, Department Head and Retailer to resolve layout problems to enhance presentation in the weekly circular.

+ Work closely with other designers in a highly collaborative environment, and contribute to the conceptualization of circular ads and collateral material and complete ad layouts based on final design concepts.

+ Execute item and price corrections based on input from the merchandising departments and retailers on all base circular pages.

+ Adjust print-ready promotional ads that are submitted by vendors to assure clarity and look that is conducive to the weekly advertising program.

Skills

+ Specialized Knowledge : Ad layout and ad production; Strong understanding of all phases of production and layout including pre-press preparation; Working knowledge in InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Excel

+ Special Skills : Expert Mac ad production skills; Extremely organized with excellent project management skills in order to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions and changing priorities; Excellent written and verbal communications skills; Must be detail oriented

+ Physical abilities: : Able to lift up to 10 lbs.

Qualifications

Associate Degree - Graphic Design & Media Arts, High School Diploma - General Studies
