Superintendent - Housing

Full Time | Day Shift

Pay rate up to $47,826/year

United Methodist Communities i s seeking a Housing Superintendent.

The Superintendent has overall responsibility for property maintenance and/or coordination of the maintenance function. Will perform repairs to the site, maintain equipment and ensure a well-maintained building and grounds.

Requirements for a Superintendent:

+ High school diploma or equivalent, some college preferred.

+ Two - five years of experience in general maintenance.

+ Knowledge of plumbing, carpentry and painting.

+ Documented apprenticeship or vocational schooling in lieu of two years' experience.

+ Valid NJ driver's license.

+ Ability to frequently lift and carry articles less than or equal to 35 pounds and occasional lifting and carrying of articles greater than 35 pounds with the assistance of a device or lift.

Responsibilities for a Superintendent:

+ Responsible for overall maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs, inspections and upkeep of property.

+ Responsible for timely apartment turnover, oversight of contractors and move-ins/outs.

+ Performs minor repairs/tasks for residents and assists in community events.

+ Responsible for recommendations of building system improvements, capital repairs and capital items requiring upgrading or replacement.

+ Responsible for emergency response and to be on call for such response.
